2nd Attempt to Thru-hike the Pacific Crest Trail
In 2021, I was determined to try again. This time, I decided to start my hike at the Southern Terminus, as the majority of hikers do. I committed (mostly) to doing no more than 15 miles per day for the first 30 days. I successfully completed the Southern California section of the PCT, all 566 miles.
I began the daunting Sierra Nevada section, and made it about halfway through before slipping, landing very un-catlike and incurring a chopart sprain and stress fracture in my right foot. I took solace in the fact that at least it wasnโt really my fault, this time. I was strapped in a boot for three months before I could start building my strength back up again.
