The Pacific Crest Trail

Walking from Mexico to Canada
Since 2019, Elyse has been training on and off for a thru-hike of the entire Pacific Crest Trail. The PCT travels 2,655 miles from Mexico to Canada through the mountains of California, Oregon, and Washington. A thru-hike, as opposed to any other hike, is defined by the completion of the entire trail in one season.
I carry everything I need on my back and stop to resupply my food and take a shower (or two, or three). The whole journey takes 5 months to complete, on average. The PCT passes through sandy deserts, dense forests, over snow, through water, and always up and down the mountains.
I’ve attempted a thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail three times, succumbing to injury each time. In total, I’ve backpacked ~2,500 miles on the trail.
