Tom joined me for the beginning of my day, so he could celebrate mile 500 with me! And, of course being the spoiled gf/hiker that I am, he surprised me with my favorite indulgent trail mix – Monster Mix from Target.
A dense fog had set in overnight, and the morning was wet with low visibility. We donned our rain gear, as nothing could spoil this day! The mist made everything mysterious and magical, although I think it would have been so even without it. The area around the trail was blanketed with lush green grasses and other ground covers, sometimes sporting thousands of tiny white or pink blooms. There were brief moments where the fog lifted to show the towering mountains beyond, but then quickly reclaimed the view.
