If you can believe it, this lucky girl right here was fortunate enough to receive trail magic on steroids TWO DAYS IN A ROW!!! Today, I was treated to hot dogs, cold drinks, and all the fresh fruit! These wonderful trail angels weren’t hikers or parents of hikers – they just learned about trail magic, and thought it would be a great way to support us hungry hikers.
Not only that, but at the trail magic yesterday I had managed to find shoes in my (very uncommon) size, with a wider toe box. I had just bought new shoes not too long ago, but they had begun to severely rub on the sides of my feet. If I hadn’t found those, I would’ve been out another ~$150.
I also received the valuable intel that I should go ahead and put on my full body bug suit because I was about to enter Wet Meadow, which I think is likely equivalent to Heaven for mosquitos. The snow is still melting out, and while that’s amazing it also means a lot of flooded trail and, of course, mosquitos.
