MILE 34.2 – 46.6 I SLEPT SO WELL! Apparently it got below freezing but I was too toasty in my 10* sleeping bag to notice. Some hikers even said their water bottles froze! I always bring all of my gear into my tent, so thankfully I did not experience this! I hiked through pine forests

Mile 22.3 – 34.2 The day dawned dreary, and stayed rainy and windy well into the morning. I again did not get much sleep the night before, so I kept warm and dry in my tent until the rain stopped. It was a beautiful, misty hike once the rain moved on! There was an abundance

Mile 15 – 22.3 Talking with a few other hikers who had been camped in the same area as me last night, they confirmed that they also heard the mountain lion and its heavy breathing. But none of us became midnight snacks! I had a steep climb first thing in the morning out of Hauser

Mile 2.7 – 15 Today was a long day with no water sources until mile 20, which meant I had to carry over 10 lbs of water as I set out on my hike. But the weather was perfect! I was able to dry everything out and found the perfect campsite nestled between some trees.

Mile 0.0 – 2.7 I’m baaaack! After a long rehab, my feet have pretty much recovered from my first thru-hike attempt. I’m ready to walk from Mexico to Canada! Imagine, you’ve been anticipating the start of your thru-hike for months, years, or at least hopefully weeks. You’re looking at your GPS while in a vehicle,
